Lois Rosenfeld was raised in NYC and went to Hunter College, graduating with a major in English and minors in Speech and Education. She earned her Master's degree in counseling, an advanced certification in psychotherapy and Massachusetts' licensure in English as a Second Language.

Lois has been working with first and second language learners of English for over twenty-five years. As a teacher and academic advisor in New York City high schools, Lois became aware of the difficult transition facing second language learners. She is challenged to ease that transition by teaching about the language and customs of the United States and learning about her students' experiences. She has been teaching ESL in local schools and to adult second language learners in companies as well as at her home office and, for ten years, has been tutoring academic subjects.
Currently, Lois is an English language consultant for the Hopedale school system.

Lois is the mom of a son and daughter, enjoys the outdoors and gardening, and sharing time with loved ones. She is enthusiastic about combining what she's learned about human nature and life with academics in her business, The Joy of English.
